EDM (CNC Wire & CNC Conventional)

This area of the business has experienced explosive growth in the last couple of years.  Just after moving into the new building, it was evident that they were quickly outgrowing their designated area.  After some careful planning and adjusting, the Wire EDM room was expanded, allowing room for more equipment and more volume.

With the expansion complete, they're taking advantage of the additional space.  Recently, four Robofil 440 CC Charmilles were added.  These high-tech,  power-house machines are capable of  increased volume and better precision.  But this is nothing new to the area.

The machinists in EDM take high precision cutting to the limit.  They work at incredible tolerances, sometimes past what the machines are intended.  But with their collective knowledge, experience, and skill, they produce quality precision work each and every time.  And, working with 3 and 4 axis capability, they are able to cut more precisely and at more cutting angles.  They're also able to achieve better tolerance, up to .0001".

Meeting the tight tolerances on the small parts and keeping up with technology is a challenge but it also comes with great rewards.  "Not many shops can do the work we do," states Guy, nine-year MPTD veteran and lead in the EDM area.
