| CNC Lathe
The lathe department has done its fair share of expanding in the last couple of years. With the recent addition of the Citizen C32 Lathes with the automatic bar feeders, productivity and efficiency are at their maximum. The bar feeders allow for more consistent production, as they require reloading less frequently. Even as the lathe chews through the material at incredible speeds, the machinist is able to continuously refill the bar feeder without ceasing production. Due to the Windows based CNC programming, the setup times, machine times, and turnaround times are faster, leading to increased productivity. Likewise, the five-axis design and 18 tool, front and back capability make this machine a production monster. Known for cutting down cycle times by at least 30%, the Citizen 32 is able to work the back of the previous part while starting the front of the next, simultaneously. It's the best of both worlds; an increase in efficiency and a reduction in scrap. The Index G300 is also a newer piece of equipment in the department. Cycle times are reduced through simultaneous machining at the main and counter spindles. Tool changers on this machine are automatically exchanged using a tool exchanger with up to 120 tools. Equipped with a bar feeder, the G300 runs high precision, multi-run components with flawless ease. The multitude of equipment in this area allows for tooling capabilities from high precision to high volume production. There's nothing the lathe area craftsmen can't accomplish.
